Temitayo Afolabi is a seasoned HIV counseling and Testing Consultant with a Bachelor of Education (Psychology of Education) (B.Ed.) obtained from the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a national Certificate of Education (N.C.E.) from Tai Solarin College of Education, Ijebu-Ode. She is a competent and experienced Counselor on HIV/AIDS related psychosocial issues.

She worked with Family Health International, the lead partner in the Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria (GHAIN) project as Administrative Officer at the Osun Zonal Office and was severed from the project on 15th July 2011at the end of the GHAIN project. The GHAIN project is a PEFAR supported program and recently Family Health International became a sub recipient of the Global Fund. In her position as Zonal Administrative Officer, She served as point of contact for logistical and administrative needs in the office and coordinated all administrative and secretarial support services for the zonal office and maintained appropriate and proper office records and filings. She also coordinated all travel details and logistics for the staff, consultants including hotel booking and arranging for airport or hotel pick-ups and provided appropriate supervision for the Administrative Assistant.

She had previously held the positions of HCT Consultant and Asst. HIV Counseling Officer with Family Health International before her appointment to the post of Administrative officer. In her position as HCT Consultant and Asst. HIV Counseling and Testing Officer, she was responsible for assisting the CT Officer to coordinate the planning and implementation of mobile CT services at the State level and also work with NGOs and other relevant bodies to facilitate the transfer of skills to PLHIVs and their families for prevention care and support and also work with the Zonal Referral Coordinator to link HIV positive clients to Care and treatment services.

Before joining Family Health International in 2006, she had worked as a Teacher with Ogun State Teaching Service Commission where she was involved in the teaching of English Language and Literature in English for both Senior and Junior secondary school students. She was also involved in the training of students as peer educators on Adolescent Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS prevention.

She is currently providing Consultancy services on HIV Counseling and Testing to desiring organizations.
