About Us

Global Support for Kids Initiative (GSK Initiative) is a community based non-governmental, non-profit organization that is poised to minimize the incessant increase of child abuse in our society and give hope to children in street situation and at risk youth. Article 27 of the Convention on the Right of the Child (CRC) declare that “States Parties recognize the right of every child to a standard of living adequate for the child’s physical, mental, spiritual, moral and social development”. Our children on the street are denies each one of those rights, and that is why we work to make sure they are adequately cared for. GSK Initiative continuously strives to provide life-saving service to street children and at-risk youth. We committed to providing food, clothing, and hygiene products, giving resource information and referrals. We have been operating since 2003 in Nigeria and our activities and campaign have recorded tremendous effects.

The right to education is just one of the rights that children in street situation are denied. Yet education is the most effective way to enable the street children reintegrate into the society. Formal education such as requiring them to attend school is not the right solution for street children because of their circumstances. GSK fill in that gap by giving the children mobile education at their base for them to acquire simple basic education which improves their intellectual capacity, to support their moral development and integrate them into societal norms.
