Global Support for Kids Initiative Nigeria (GSK Initiative) is dedicated to addressing the urgent issue of child abuse and aim to raise public awareness about it. Each year, from August 18th to 22nd, is designated a special week to shed light on the various forms of child abuse, including sexual abuse, emotional abuse, psychological maltreatment, neglect, and physical abuse.
Child abuse poses a serious threat to the well-being of children worldwide, necessitating immediate attention and effective protective measures at the family, local, national, and international levels. In response to this pervasive menace, GSKI Nigeria has set aside this designated week to encourage action and collaboration.
During Global Support for Kids Initiative Nigeria Week, we aim to create a platform where concerned individuals, organizations, and communities can come together to raise awareness, share knowledge, and implement effective strategies to combat child abuse. Through workshops, seminars, educational campaigns, and community events, we seek to engage people from all walks of life in this important cause.
Providing vital information regarding available resources to meet their needs, including education, health and other support services
Providing food, clothing, hygiene products, blankets and other comfort items.
Harm reduction counseling to address the risk associated with street life.
