SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMME ON EDUCATION

One of the core focus that we value so much at Global Support for kids Initiative is Education. Education is the key to success in the future and access to many opportunities in our life. Education has many advantages because it illuminates a person’s mind and thinking. Having an education in an area helps one think, feel, and behave in a way that contributes to their success and improves not only their personal satisfaction but also their community. In addition, education develops human personality, thoughts, dealing with others and prepares people for life experiences.

We realized that the rate at which some children roam around the street during school hours while they are supposed to be in school is high, GSK Initiative so much believes in Education and come to the conclusion that no child should be deprived or denied access to Education. The organization did research to know what are the causes some children are home, when they are supposed to be in school and although many factors contributed to reasons children are denied access to Education and we found out that poverty rate in the society is one the crucial factor that contributed to why some children are not in school when they are supposed to.

To survive in some homes are difficult let alone to sponsor a child to school and meet the child school needs. In most cases, children from this home are always brilliant and zealous towards their academics.

As part of what we do which is Education support program, since we cannot directly give these children education, we diverse a means to reach out and support them indirectly by introducing sponsorship to our program to support indigent children from vulnerable homes and also as a way of preventing the menace that can befall children who are not educated in our society.

GSK Initiative took it upon herself to sponsor indigent children who are intelligent and have a record of excellent performance in her previous school report.

The sponsorship covers them from primary level to tertiary level. In most cases,those that have already dropped out or at the verge of dropping out are enrolled back to school and ensure that all their academic needs and tuition fees are properly taking cared of till they attains a height in their Academic pursuit.

We get to know these children based on information received about them from our visitation to schools and mostly through referrals from members of the society. Numbers of children have been a beneficiary of the program every year.
