As part of the continuous efforts of Global Support for Kids Initiative (GSKi) to promote the well-being and inclusion of street-connected children and youths at risk, a creative art session was held on 11th November 2025 at Agric Olope, Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti State and Panseke, Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The Drawing and Painting provided an opportunity for children and young people to express their feelings, thoughts and hopes. These participants were encouraged to create artwork reflecting what was in their mind – from personal experiences to future goals. They were creative, imaginative and inventive, making great works that displayed hope, resilience, and talent.

The art session was lively and filled with laughter and excitement. From their experience during the session, many participants enjoyed a rare experience of freedom and joy, a place to relax, play and communicate colors, shade, and shapes rather than words. GSKi was concerned with encouraging the children to building confidence, develop their inner strengths, and provide a sense of belongings through this exercise even while on street.

This experience also provided a message that many street-connected children were not on streets in the hopes of moving out, but because of difficult circumstances such as poverty, family breakdown, or neglect. This children and youths deserve compassion and support rather than discrimination and rejection.

GSKi continues to say that every one of us has a role to play in helping vulnerable children and young people find hope and meaning. Providing safe spaces and opportunities like this help communities develop a revolution in lives and create a better future for everyone.
