AKINWUNMI AYOMIDE FINALLY FREE FROM ILLEGAL CHARGES.

18 years old AKINWUNMI AYOMIDE who was arrested and allegedly charged for stealing chin chin at Lafenwa area of Abeokuta, Ogun State on the 30th, August 2022 has been discharged on the 7th November, 2022.

AYOMIDE who has being living on the street at a tender age and engage in scavenging as a means of survival was spotted by Global Support for kid’s initiative. Since then the organization engages him and other street connected children in Her daily activities, along the line, he showed interest in learning a vocational skill (barbing). With the help of the organization, Ayomide was enrolled to a vocational Centre where he is currently undergoing training.

On the 30th August 2022, Ayomide was scavenging beside an Incinerator, unknowing to him that a pack of stolen chin chin was dumped there. While security agencies were in search of the culprit, they found the pack of stolen chin chin by the incinerator where he was. He was arrested and charged for stealing.  

 

As part of our core functions at Global Support for Kids Initiative,which is giving hope to street children and vulnerable ones. the organization swing to action after being informed on Ayomide’s case,which he had been charged to court and remanded at IBARA PRISON. GSK Initiative with the help of Child Protection Network Ogun Chapter represented by Barrister ADEMOLA LAPITE who is a legal practitioner and currently the coordinator CPN Ogun Chapter appealed for his bail which was granted. His case hearing was September 13th, 2022. On this day GSK Initiative and others were present at the Magistrate court Isabo after the hearing, the case was adjourned to October 13th 2022 which was later re adjourned to November 7th 2022 when his case was finally stroked out.
