In a heartwarming ceremony held on April 5th, 2024, at No 3, Moferere, beside Agape Church, Ajilosun, Ado EKITI, Global Support for Kids Initiative Nigeria (GSKi) hosted a graduation ceremony for two individuals who have successfully completed their vocational training. The event was graced by 50 esteemed guests for the event that took off at about 11:41am with the soulful rendition of the second stanza of the National Anthem and Ekiti Anthem.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome from the organization’s Grant and Finance Manager, who introduced the distinguished guests. The Country Director, delivering an inspiring presidential speech from Mr Opeyemi Olajide Olowookere remotely, emphasized the organization’s commitment to empowering the youths. This sentiment was echoed as two outstanding graduands, Omidan Faith Mathew and Ogbeni Afolabi Seun aka KAKO, were introduced. Faith, a hairdresser, and Afolabi Seun, a skilled bike mechanic, stood proudly alongside their supportive bosses who endorsed and blessed them with tools provided by GSKi.

Amid prayers and heartfelt advice from their mentors, Faith and Seun expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Opeyemi Olajide Olowookere, the visionary founder of GSKi, as well as the dedicated staff and their bosses. They were then presented with their apprentice equipment and certificates, symbolizing a significant milestone in their personal and professional journey.

The ceremony also honored individuals like Olaolu, a Youth at risk, who received vital support from the initiative, including a clipper and financial assistance. Representatives from law enforcement agencies, Mrs. Kenny O’leye from Okesha Police Station, Ekiti commended GSKi’s impactful work and offered valuable insights for the graduands’ future endeavors.

Notably, the initiative extended its support beyond the graduation, as GSKi presented an OX standing fan and a 3-seater chair to the Juvenile Welfare Centre at Okesha Police Station, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. The initiative was warmly received by CSP Mustapha M. Musa (DPO ADO CENTRAL) and his team, highlighting the collaborative efforts in safeguarding children’s rights.

The ceremony was brought to a close with heartfelt gratitude expressed by all, encapsulating well-wishes for GSKi’s continued success and its enduring positive impact on the lives of children and youths in Ado Ekiti and its environs.
