The primary objective of Global Support for Kids Initiative Nigeria is to advocate for a world that respects, cares for, and protects children, particularly the vulnerable ones. On March 17th, 2026, GSK Initiative Nigeria engaged in advocacy by raising awareness and garnering widespread support for children’s rights. This event took place at Okesha and Oke – Ise Markets in Ado- Ekiti, Ekiti State, Iberekodo and Adatan markets in Abeokuta North Local Government Areas of Ogun State, Nigeria and Oba Afuntade Market in Ilawe, Ekiti State. Being the market days in the states, the dedicated staff and volunteers joined forces to sensitize the people, families, individuals, market vendors, and passersby in the markets.
Recognizing the pressing need to reach a diverse range of people from different locations, we chose one of the largest markets in Ekiti State and Abeokuta as the venue for our sensitization campaign. With great success, GSKi was able to educate a significant number of individuals about the pervasive issue of child abuse and the rights of children.
At GSK Initiative, we firmly acknowledge and emphasized that all children have rights that must not be violated. They should not be deprived of these rights. Sadly, parenting has become disordered in Africa, leading to neglect, abuse, molestation, and the silencing of children, particularly the vulnerable ones. During this event, our organization shed light on the rights of children, offering a clearer understanding to everyone present at the market. We distributed posters also used mega phones to further enlighten them on the subject.
Our staff conveyed the message that at Global Support for Kids Initiative, we strive to protect children from all forms of abuse, advocate for their rights, and enhance their quality of life. We emphasized the importance of promptly reporting any instances of abuse, as the well-being of every child should be of utmost concern to everyone. Various individuals in the market raised questions, which our staff dutifully answered.
In conclusion, our organization successfully shed light on parenting, child abuse, and children’s rights. We enabled the people to recognize the significance of improving the lives of their children and creating a nurturing environment for all. We emphasized the importance of eradicating discrimination because every child’s well-being matters and we must secure the future for our children.
